Dr. Aja Dionna King is a Counseling Psychologist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling with over 22 years. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her Masters of Art in Community Counseling from Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. King also holds a Doctoral degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling Psychology through Argosy University in Washington, D.C.
Brave Defiance Consulting, LLC is a business solutions agency that helps individuals, organizations, and communities repair systemic power imbalances and heal broken relationships through restorative and conflict transformation practices. It is our belief that the resolution of conflict cannot be rushed or simply resolved, but rather, turning the root cause of our conflict into growth and learning opportunities. Brave Defiance Consulting, LLC utilizes eclectic approaches to bring healing by shifting from why to how through experiential training, retreats, and coaching.
Dr. King has provided training, one-to-one coaching, and consultation services to organizations such as: YWCA, Lutheran Social Services, People for Pride in Living, Urban Ventures, and Solid Ground Foundation. Dr. King currently serves as a chair for the Human Rights Commission for Brooklyn park. She has written a children’s book called, “Finding My Cool” which addresses mindfulness in children, and is currently working on her next book “The Art of Sitting.”
